Car Insurance Volkswagen (Car Insurance). Can I drive with a near flat tire?

Can I drive with a near flat tire? I forgot to put in air in the tire this morning, it's gotten worse. IDK how bad it is, but it's VERY bad. It kind of looks like a flat, but it's not driving on the rim just yet, so not a complete flat... The nearest place to get air is about a 20 minute drive away. Can I make it? If not, what do I do?? I'm scared to drive on it :/

Don't drive on it. See if any of your neighbors or someone with a car can lend you a air compressor, then when filled take it to a tire repair shop to see whats causing the near flat tire. You could drive at walking speed for a couple of blocks, but not 20 minutes away (presumably at normal speed). Standard practice is to put the spare tire on the car. Find a ride to a gas station or store and you can buy a special spray can that you spray into you tire and it fills it up temporarily so you can drive on it. Hope that helps. fyi-bigger tire=more spray if the tire is a good tire then you have a chance of ruining the side wall. just throw the spare on until you get it fixed. Don't drive it until it has been inflated, driving a vehicle that is flat or near flat can cause a tyre to burst and in turn lose control since the tube and tyre are rubbing against each other expanding the air inside.

Volkswagen . Crankshaft / camshaft position sensor?

Crankshaft / camshaft position sensor? Hello, I have a 1999 Corolla that acts like it has a rev-limiter after the engine is up to temp and I try to accelerate hard like to pass another car. When it is cool and has not reached temp yet(temp gauge is still low)the problem doesn't happen. I can accelerate and pass like it should. When engine is up to temp I can cruise all day long at 65-70 mph but if I put my foot down to accelerate the engine misfires. I have put new plugs, wires, coils, temp sensor, ECM. The fuel filter is not plugged. As I said, the engine is flawless until it begins to warm up...then it will begin to misfire at a certain RPM everytime. Very predictable. It will not misfire in drive with my foot on the brake and other on the gas stalling the converter because it has not reached that certain RPM. It feels like about 3000 to 3500 rpm where the misfire begins and the engine WILL NOT rev beyond that RPM....just like a rev limiter. HELP ME car insurance.

Volkswagen . What Is an Auto Eprom?

The term "Auto EPROM" is short for "automobile erasable programmable read-only memory." It is used to refer to computer memory chips found in the engine computers of automobiles.
Definition
An EPROM is a computer memory chip. EPROM chips can be removed from the devices into which they are incorporated, reprogrammed and reinserted.
Features
Many automobile engine systems contain EPROM chips to control various engine functions. People who tweak and modify cars to improve performance, also known as "tuners," purchase and install aftermarket EPROM chips, which are programmed differently from stock EPROM chips. By installing different EPROMs, tuners can tweak and customize the performance of car engines.
Pros and Cons
Using aftermarket auto EPROMs can improve engine performance and fuel efficiency. Some aftermarket auto EPROMs installers say that the benefits are slight, and that there are drawbacks, such as increased engine knocking.

Volkswagen . How to Refit a Windscreen

A small chip on your windscreen can soon turn into a large crack, which can affect your visibility and increase the risk of suffering a car accident. If your windscreen is chipped or cracked, you should repair it as soon as possible. Refitting your car's windscreen at a garage can cost you between $160 and $300. You can save money by refitting a windscreen yourself but it requires training, experience, and in some cases, special tools supplied only by the manufacturer. Note that refitting techniques will vary by model. This guide uses the refitting of a Ford Scorpio's windscreen as an example.
Difficulty:Challenging
Instructions

Step by Step :
1
Remove the cowl top outer and the weatherstripping along the A-pillars of your window frame. Your car's A-pillars are the pieces of bodywork on each side of your windscreen.
2
Drill out the rivets on the A-pillars and remove the glass trims, which hold the windscreen in place.
3
Disconnect the heated windscreen connectors, if your model includes them. The Ford Scorpio we are using as a model has two on each side of the windscreen. Other models may have more and/or they may be located in different spots.
4
Pry off the top windscreen weatherstrip. Take care not to damage the weatherstrip if you plan to use it again. A damaged weatherstrip can allow water ingress.
5
Detach the weatherstripping clips and remove the support block at the base of the windscreen. Position varies by model, but is generally at the center of the windscreen between the windscreen wipers.
6
Cut along the edges of the windscreen with a glass cutting blade. Remove the windscreen with suction pads. You will need the help of at least one more person to remove and carry the windscreen safely.
7
Clean the edges of the frame. Use a cutter to remove all excess adhesive. Fit spacer blocks along the frame of the windscreen and refit the headlining rubber. Replace the windscreen support block.
8
Dry the windscreen frame with a heat gun set on warm air--around 25 degrees centigrade--and prime the frame for the glass adhesive as described by the manufacturer.
9
Apply the glass adhesive along the frame of the windscreen. Attach suction pads on the new windscreen, and with the help of another person, fit it into position. Replace the weathering clips, the weathering strips, heating connectors, rivets and glass trims in the reverse order you removed them.
Tips & Warnings
Use suction cups to remove and replace the windscreen. You can easily cut yourself when removing the windscreen if you don't.

Don't try this if you don't have experience, the correct tools or someone to help you.

If Aft Else Fails If your car is a chronic overheater and none of the remedies in this chapter cures it, consider replacing its radiator with one that has a greater cooling capacity or installing a separate cooling device where the trouble occurs. (For example, devices are sold to cool transmission systems.) Often, these coolers are sold as part of a trailer-towing package, because most cars aren't designed to tow or carry very heavy loads for long periods of time, and the resulting strain causes them to overheat. Again, a professional you can trust is the proper person to consult if you think that you may need these extras. Chapter 22 shows you how to choose repair facilities that are honest and competent, and tells you what to do if you're dissatisfied with their service. Changing Your Oil In This Chapter &• Keeping your engine running smoothly with clean oil ^ Knowing what kind of oil to buy and whether you need additives fr- Deciding how often to change your oil ^ Changing your oil and oil filter !• Recycling your old oil and filter M My hen people think about the good life, they tend to think in terms of WW freedom from pressure, discomfort, and friction. If your car could talk, it would probably agree. When you consider that the temperature in your vehicle's combustion chambers can get as high as 4,500 degrees Fahrenheit, with high pressures, the shock of combustion, and many metal parts rubbing and grinding against one another, you can see that a vehicle that is not ade quately protected against heat and friction will swiftly come to an untimely

death. Luckily, this kind of protection is cheap and easy to ensure. It's a simple matter of providing sufficient lubrication to keep things running smoothly and then making sure that your vehicle gets regular attention. Changing the oil is the most essential thing you can do to give your car a long and happy life. This chapter tells you how to choose the right kind of oil for your vehicle, how frequently you should change the oil for maximum performance, and how to do the job quickly and easily. Hou) OH Benefits \lour Vehicle To choose the proper kind of oil, you should know what that oil is expected to do. When your car is at rest, the oil slops around quietly in a container located at the bottom of the crankcase, just below the engine (see Figure 15-1). This container is called the oil pan. When the car is running, oil is pumped by an oil pump through holes and channels in the engine, where the oil helps cool and clean the engine and provides a nice, slippery cushion that keeps moving parts from grinding one another into oblivion. The following sections explain in greater detail how oil benefits your vehicle. Because the oil pan is located below the engine, where the air that rushes past the moving car can cool it, the oil picks up some of the heat as it travels around inside the engine and then cools off when it circulates through the oil pan. Although this isn't enough to keep most engines sufficiently cool with out a cooling system, it helps. Oil keeps your engine clean Most engine oils contain some detergent, which helps flush out the muck that accumulates inside your engine. Not only does detergent remove and dis solve this old sludge; it also helps prevent new gobs of the stuff from forming. Believe me, you have no idea of the meaning of any of those yucky
